1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using tree.co ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Tree.co provides a platform for individuals and businesses to purchase tree planting services and carbon offsets through verified reforestation projects. Our services include:
- Tree planting in verified projects
- Carbon footprint calculation
- Carbon offsetting through tree planting
- Gift trees and subscriptions
- Business and API solutions
3. Tree Planting and Carbon Offsets
3.1 Project Partners
Trees are planted through our verified partners including Eden Reforestation Projects. We work only with organisations that meet our standards for transparency, community engagement, and environmental impact.
3.2 Carbon Estimates
Carbon sequestration estimates are based on Quantified Carbon Modeling (QCM) reports where available. These are projected estimates over a 30-year period and actual results may vary based on local conditions, tree survival rates, and other factors.
Projects without QCM reports do not display carbon estimates and are offered as "trees only" contributions.
3.3 No Guarantee of Carbon Credits
Purchasing trees through tree.co does not constitute the purchase of certified carbon credits or offsets under any regulatory framework. Trees planted are real and verified, but they are not carbon credits in the regulatory sense.
4. Purchases and Payments
4.1 Pricing
All prices are in Australian Dollars (AUD) unless otherwise stated. Prices include GST where applicable for Australian customers.
4.2 Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your complete credit card details on our servers.
4.3 Order Confirmation
You will receive an email confirmation and certificate upon successful payment. Tree planting typically occurs within 30-60 days depending on local conditions and planting seasons.
5. Refunds
Due to the nature of our service (trees are planted shortly after purchase), we generally do not offer refunds. However, we will consider refund requests made within 7 days of purchase on a case-by-case basis. Please see our Refund Policy for details.
6. Accounts
You may create an account to track your tree planting and access additional features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
7. API and Partner Terms
Use of our Partner API is subject to additional terms and requires approval. API credentials must be kept secure and not shared. We reserve the right to revoke API access for violations of these terms.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on tree.co, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is the property of tree.co or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws.
9. Limitation of Liability
Tree.co is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service.
